Victor A. Mezacapa III, received his Juris Doctorate Degree from John Marshall College of Law in December 1991. Mr. Mezacapa was admitted to practice in May 1991 before the Ohio Supreme Court. From 1991 until June of 1994 Mr. Mezacapa worked for the Law Firm of Shafran and Pecchio, specializing in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice and contract matters. In 1995 Mr. Mezacapa was admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and the 6th Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Mezacapa has tried numerous civil trials to verdict in Cuyahoga, Lake, Summit, Lorain and Geauga Counties. He has also served as both panel member and chairman of multiple arbitrations for the Cuyahoga County Alternative Dispute Resolution Division of the Cuyahoga Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Mezacapa has served in the capacity of mediator in each of the last three years for the Lake County Court of Common Pleas.

In June of 1994 Mr. Mezacapa started his own firm concentrating his practice in the area of litigation including; personal injury, medical malpractice, corporate matters and domestic relations. Recently he has focused his practice in the areas of corporate and business litigation. Mr. Mezacapa managed his own firm until January 2007 when he joined Licata and Toerek.

Mr. Mezacapa is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and The American Association for Justice. He has served as regional director of the Student Mock Trial Competition. He is also a member of the Lake County Bar Association and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Mezacapa provides volunteer legal service with the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland, having received the prestigious Trustee Award in 2004 for outstanding volunteer service. He has also created a middle school mock trial program, at a local parochial elementary school, to introduce legal advocacy to young students in Lake County.

Mr. Mezacapa is very involved in civic and community affairs, and is a lifelong resident of Lake County.
